Evaluation

In the time I have used word press I have found it to be painful. I would much rather be getting on with practical work or using another site. At the start when i was first building my site found quiet difficult to concentrate on keeping the site updated and it was extremely boring when I did. It is a good thing for posting your thoughts and babbling on about what ever your site is about however it is not good to communicate with other bloggers and it personally just wasn’t for me.

I think that a good portfolio is best kept on paper. Word press is by far the worst online site I have attempted to use yet, I couldn’t keep up with it.

I do enjoy doing work online and I definitely think its a good way to really get your work out there to people. But there are certainly a lot better platforms that I could be using other than this one within seven months I only got as many as four views, where as on Instagram u get up yo thirty a week. The journey I have taken has been quiet interesting. I have learnt many new photographic techniques throughout the course. As well as learning a lot about many photographers which I never knew existed. And using word press was a good way to to share there work and and my own versions of it, as well as just talking a load of rubble like I do in my portfolio.

Comparing word press to other sites.

I have been using word press for around seven months now and I have to say creating the site and posting on your blog is so easy. But other things like getting your blog out there and getting views wasn’t easy for me at all.

Other sites such as Instagram and Facebook are a piece of cake! Ive had an Instagram account for over a year and its sos easy to do simple things like gain followers and upload images. You can also connect it to a Facebook page, your email and advertise any other website you have on there.

Still Life

still life is a picture that consists of inanimate objects, fruit or a cup of tea etc. Basically an image of anything that cannot move by itself. for a still life photoshoot you can actauly need a mass amount of studio equipment. Your set up can have as little as a lamp or just day light as an alternative light source.

Landscape, best and worst image

For my best image i used the frame technique, which i think worked really well. The trees are the frame/boarder around the sky. The sky is also two colors which is shown clearly by the trees splitting the image at the middle. i have also edited this photograph. This is my worst/least favorite photo from today. I took the shot because the red vines reminded me of a film. And it was supposed to be the rule of thirds technique but it just didn’t turn out the way i thought it would.

Landscape

Monday 21st January 2019

Today we went out in groups to take a variety of landscape images. We were supposed to capture multiple images using four  four different photo techniques. Conveying lines, leading lines, rule of thirds and frame. I didn’t get a lot of photographs due to the harsh weather but, i did manage to get a good few using the frame technique especially.

light portrait photography

Monday 14th January 2019

Today we went into the studio room to take some light portrait photographs of each other. We split into two groups and took it in turns as models and photographers. Using different styles of lighting to photograph each other.

We started by getting setting up the lights and our cameras. Then started to work our way through the lighting guide. this shoo was a huge contribution to my work. I had absolutely no idea there were so many different lighting techniques i could be using in my work.

Maria Aparicio Puentes image description

Looking at this photograph i think she is stuck in the book. Like her eyes are glued to the pages. It also made me think of laser eyes but i don’t think that’s what the artist is aiming for.

Also the way she is dressed makes her seem like a chilled out person, as well as the flowers in her hair they make me think of the fact that she could be a hippie or something. the background is really calm in this image, there is not a lot going on which makes the girl the main focus in the photograph.

Description of image

The color of the sun makes this photograph look really warm and cozy. the orange especially gives off a sense of safety and comfort. Also the man and women sat at the front seem so relaxed and chilled out it creates a homely vibe.

Melissa Zexter has laid out the stitching on this photograph in such a way that it creates an illusion to make us think the sun is a lot brighter. this is done by how the lines are coming out of the sun horizontally, vertically, diagonally and every other way here is. It is like beams of light shooting through the image.

Also the ocean creates a really calm atmosphere in this photo because it’s so still and idyllic. This photograph is my favorite by Melissa Zexter as it’s very pleasant and tranquil. The first thing that came to mind looking at this picture is the quote “home is where the heart is”.
