The color of the sun makes this photograph look really warm and cozy. the orange especially gives off a sense of safety and comfort. Also the man and women sat at the front seem so relaxed and chilled out it creates a homely vibe.
Melissa Zexter has laid out the stitching on this photograph in such a way that it creates an illusion to make us think the sun is a lot brighter. this is done by how the lines are coming out of the sun horizontally, vertically, diagonally and every other way here is. It is like beams of light shooting through the image.
Also the ocean creates a really calm atmosphere in this photo because it’s so still and idyllic. This photograph is my favorite by Melissa Zexter as it’s very pleasant and tranquil. The first thing that came to mind looking at this picture is the quote “home is where the heart is”.
